About Therapeutic Boarding Schools in Arizona

Troubled Teen Schools in Arizona

Private schools in Arizona do not require Accreditation, Registration, Licensing or Approval from the state. A private school is defined as "a nonpublic institution, other than the child’s home, where academic instruction is provided for at least the same number of days and hours each year as a public school.” The laws of Arizona go on further to say “Nothing in this title shall be construed to provide the state board of education or the governing boards of school districts control or supervision over private schools."

Although a teaching certificate is not required to teach at a private school, students are required to be provided instruction in the subjects of reading, grammar, mathematics, social studies and science.”

Private schools must adhere to the safety programs and drills set out by the fire marshal as well as follow safety standards regarding educational activities. Arizona places criminal penalties on people selling drugs within the school zone and school personnel are responsible for placing signs and other indicators that the facility is a drug-free zone.

Life Development Institute

The purpose and intent of the LDI Residential High School Program is to provide an innovative pathway toward students receiving an internationally recognized, fully-accredited high school diploma — not a certificate of attendance or completion. The high school program does not restrict or limit personal growth and development to only academic pursuits. In addition, academic curriculum and methodologies provide students with an opportunity to concurrently gain work experience, begin to plan a career and take dual enrollment courses at the local community college. Students enrolled in this program also experience independent-living while assuming some financial responsibilities AND earn a high school diploma at the same time.

RED HAWK’S ACADEMIC PLAN FOR GIRLS WHILE IN THEIR CARE

best therapeutic boarding schools Red Hawk has an on-campus school that can pick up the girl’s academic status and  transfer credits back to the girl’s local school. We believe that academics work must continue, even when intense therapy is underway.  We have many educational options to help students learn in ways that best fit their needs and their learning styles.

All students of Red Hawk have the privilege of an extra month of academic access (online) to continue their studies wherever they go from here, whether back home or to another residential program.  Options are also available to continue a girl’s schooling online at home and graduate with a high school diploma.  Red Hawk helps maintain continuity through your daughter’s educational needs once graduating the program and returning home.

MAIN THERAPEUTIC TOOLS WE EMPLOY

• Individual, Family and Group Therapy
• Equine-Assisted Therapy

Re-Creation Retreat

Re-Creation RetreatRe-Creation Retreat is a professional, licensed residential treatment center that provides troubled young women with an opportunity for self-discovery and self-empowerment. Through this experience, they will discover their worth, their strengths, and ultimately, how to succeed.

This residential treatment center is committed to providing individualized treatment for troubled teenage girls and bringing hope to worrying families.

Re-Creation RetreatStaff at Re-Creation Retreat is comprised of compassionate, experienced professionals. Their only goal is to help teenage boys change their lives through strong therapeutic relationships. This aspect of the program is truly unique, and not offered by other traditional residential treatment centers for girls.

Academics are also an area of concern for many parents of troubled teens. Re-Creation Retreat provides a high-quality academic program specifically designed to fit the needs of troubled students. It is not at all uncommon for girls going through emotional and behavioral difficulties to also experience a degree of academic struggle. These two things are not unrelated. For this reason, the therapeutic approach works alongside the academic program to build a comprehensive plan of recovery.

Re-Creation Retreat offers an outstanding and affordable inpatient therapeutic programs for girls. We present a unique blend of animal-assisted therapy combined with traditional therapy (individual and group therapy – CBT & DBT).

Re-Creation RetreatGirls in this therapeutic program achieve emotional growth, emotional intelligence development, and emotional maturity. Moreover, upon graduation, the girls are ready to return home and resume a more productive and healthy lifestyle.

Re-Creation Retreat provides a home-like  environment. Emotional and personal safety is the key ingredient for all emotional growth and behavioral change, so it is a central aspect of our program. Without safety, girls with cannot be beyond their emotional or behavioral troubles. Our top priority is to develop a sense of safety, security, and support.

Typically, a teen’s world is comprised of numerous community-based systems; friends (peer groups), family, school, sports teams, youth group, and other community-based groups. These communities are different, separate, but connected by one common factor…your daughter. Any one of these communities can either help or hurt, your daughter’s self-concept.  We develop a community that is supportive and encouraging.

Real World Integration

We integrate a “community-based” real world understanding into our therapy, and use the community here as a safe and encouraging place for the girls to learn about themselves and their choices. We use the daily interactions of students and staff as the “training ground” for therapeutic intervention.

Re-Creation RetreatStudents here get a hands-on real life view of the most important precepts and principles of life. We teach the girls that if they choose to live by good values, hold themselves and others accountable, and take responsibility for their choices, they will most likely prosper in all areas of life. Moreover, when they understand and take this in, they will positively contribute (give back) to their family, friends, and others. They will find fulfillment, purpose and peace.

Growing Values – Growing in Life

Re-Creation RetreatYoung women who are struggling need coaching and instruction regarding values and what is acceptable and what isn’t. Understanding and living by values does not come automatically, or easily to these girls. Values such as integrity, trustworthiness, compassion, service toward others, and truthfulness are critical to a healthy life. Without such strong values it is almost impossible to “get healthy.” Add in the condition they come to us, the loos of many of these values may seem impossible to overcome, but we have seen it again and again that our methods and therapies do work.

We provide an opportunity and continuous training platform to help our residents to connect with each other and their family back home in a emotionally mature and consistent manner. Principles learned at Re-Creation Retreat lead to a new level of accountability and responsibility, which leads to self-value and self-worth. This program allows girls to “retreat” from their old self and re-discover what is truly important in life. In this process, girls begin to re-create their lives, adopting values that can bring a life-long change.
